Introduction

We rely on many Internet services for our work and living nowadays, and there is no exception of LLM service such as Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini, and so on. For most Internet services, you are required to create an account with leaving some personal information such as e-mail, which becomes a privacy threat as any information might make a connection to yourself IRL. What’s more, your account sometimes get banned because the service provider such as Google considers you violate ToS, thus you can no logner access any other services with the banned account.

For the most secure way to prevent your account and privacy is not to register any LLM services. Nevertheless, it is usually not feasible unless you have any alternatives for living. So, I would like to propose an alternative: use a dedicated e-mail for registering any LLM services. This is a less but much more feasible way to protect your privacy and not being banned by accessing any other services even your account becomes suspicious. To persuade you to do this, I would like to share some aspects so that you will agree with me after reading this post.

Preventing Bans by Service Providers

You can register many LLM service providers using a third-party service (for Google will become an exception: you need a Google account). However, doing so will let you have the risk of total loss of data and accessibility when your third-party service account get banned. What’s worse, you are not able to access any other services: taking Google as example, the banned account will no longer to access any services of Google.

This becomes not possible to use a dedicated e-mail: the service providers only blocks the e-mail but not your third-party account, making less harm to yourself.

Defeating Shadow Profiling

Many LLM services do data collection, including profiling, when you use their services. By using a dedicated e-mail, you create an alternative idendity which leaks less information of yourself, protecting for your privacy.

Containing the “Blast Radius”

Internet services face cyberattacks a lot, and there is no exception to LLM services. Using a dedicated e-mail can let you have less information leaks when the LLM services is breached, protecting your privacy and possibility of phishing.

Conclusion

When using LLM services, I urge you to use a dedicated e-mail address for your privacy and accessibility of Internet services. By more five minutes of registering, you protect your own area of boundary.
