How to Add iOS App Widget on iOS 26
Some apps give a barcode or QR code for scanning. However, launching such apps whenever needed is not only tedious but also limited to the network speed.
Thankfully, iOS gives the App Widget to let you use barcode so that:
- Less waiting time: no need to launch the app everytime.
- No Internet needed: the barcode still can be display without Internet connection.
As the iOS evolves, the processes to set this feature alter. To let myself to remind the procedures, this post will list the procedures to set up the App Widget on iOS 26.
How to Add Your App Widget
prerequisite
Ensure your app is installed and the barcode or QR code is set up inside the app.
procedures
- Enter Jiggle Mode: Go to your iPhone Home Screen and long-press on any empty space until the icons start to jiggle.
- Add Widget: Tap the ”+” (Add) button in the top left/right corner of the screen.
- Search Your App: search your app by either search bar or app icon.
- Select Style: You will see four different widget styles. For barcode, choose the first one and tap ”+ Add Widget”.
- Finalize: Drag the widget to your preferred location on the screen and tap “Done” in the top right corner.
Now, wheneven your are going to show your code, you can smoothly swipe to your widget page and let the magic happens.
